4 1/4" by 7". Beatrice Trowbridge Ward (1897 - 1991) was active/lived in California. Beatrice Ward is known for Easel painting, poster illustration. Born in NYC on Feb. 17, 1897. Ward came with her parents to California as a child. After attending public schools in Pasadena, she studied at the Stickney School of Art under Jean Mannheim, Otis Art Institute under Richard Miller, and was a sketching partner of Elizabeth Borglum. During the 1920s she had a studio in Los Angeles and worked as a poster artist for Grauman's Chinese Theater. By 1932 she was the wife of Adolph Kelterborn and later in life of Murdo McIvor. She died in Arcadia, CA on May 3, 1991. Her works include landscapes and portraits of the Navajos.
