Ultra rare UK stereo first pressing first cover With the Beatles album signed in the upper white area in blue ballpoint, “Ringo Starr,” “George Harrison,” “Paul McCartney,” and “John Lennon.”The signatures were acquired at the Liverpool Empire on December 7, 1963, during a backstage meeting with a male fan after he was a guest of the group during the day and attended their performance on Juke Box Jury and then the concert arranged by the fan club. In fine condition, with a bit of light irregular ink adhesion to end of Starr’s signature and beginning of Harrison’s, a light album impression to front cover and a few minor edge creases. The record is included. Accompanied by a letter of authenticity from noted Beatles expert Frank Caiazzo.

The date this album was signed for the lucky fan was an extremely busy day for the band. They first taped a special edition of the BBC show Juke Box Jury being the star judges on the program and then gave a special Northern area fan club convention live concert. Both events were taped and screened by the BBC later that evening having been recorded in the afternoon at the Liverpool Empire. Following the television tapings they made their way down to the nearby Odeon Cinema to give two more live performances later in the day as part of the groups UK 1963 winter tour, performing a 10-song set including, ‘Roll Over Beethoven,’ ‘All My Loving,’ and ‘She Loves You.’

Released on November 22, 1963, With the Beatles went straight to the #1 position on the album chart, knocking their first album Please Please Me out of the top spot, where it remained the best-selling album for 21 weeks and charted for 40 weeks. This stereo version of the album is extremely rare on its own. Identified as a first pressing by the “Jobete” publishing credit for the song ‘Money’, as well as the incorrect spelling of the song title ‘You Really Gotta [sic, Got A] Hold On Me,’ this particular version of the album is seldom-seen and highly prized by music collectors. Roughly only 15–20 band-signed copies of any version of With the Beatles are known to exist, with this being only the second very rare stereo first pressing cover that we have been able to find. One of the utmost of Beatles and rock and roll rarities!
