Vintage blue ballpoint signatures, “George Harrison,” “Ringo Starr,” and “Paul McCartney,” and a blue ballpoint signature “John Lennon,” on an off-white 6 x 4.5 album page. These signatures were obtained on February 7, 1964, at Heathrow Airport in London, just prior to the group flying to the United States for the first time. Just two days after signing, the band would appear on the Ed Sullivan Show, making music history. The page originally had an additional unknown signature between Harrison’s and Starr’s which has been removed by a professional paper restoration expert. In fine condition, with a uniform shade of toning to page, aforementioned removed signature, and some light traces of removed signatures on the reverse of the page. Accompanied by a letter of authenticity from noted Beatles expert Frank Caiazzo, giving the history of the signatures which reads, in part: “Full sets of autographs on the day The Beatles arrived in the U.S. for the first time are incredibly desirable and extremely scarce. This is only one of a very few known full set of autographs signed on that historic day.” A fantastic set of signatures, on a larger album page than usually seen, tied to one of the most important dates in rock and roll history.
