Vintage ballpoint signatures of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Jimmie Nicol on an off-white 7.5 x 9.25 lightly-lined sheet. Double-matted and framed with a photo of the short-lived Beatles lineup to an overall size of 20.75 x 28. In fine condition. Accompanied by a letter of provenance from the original recipient, in part: “In 1964 shortly after the completion of their first movie ‘A Hard Day’s Night’ the Beatles sans Ringo Starr gave one performance in Hong Kong. The substitute drummer for an ailing Ringo was Jimmie Nicole [sic]. John, George and Paul stayed at the President Hotel and performed at the Princess Theatre on Nathan Road…I obtained each autograph personally backstage at the Princess Theatre on Nathan Rd, Kowloon.” Also accompanied by a letter of authenticity from noted Beatles expert Frank Caiazzo. Nicol replaced Ringo Starr from June 3–15, 1964, at the start of the Beatles’ World Tour, while Ringo was suffering from tonsillitis and pharyngitis. Given how Nicol was with the Beatles for under two weeks and played a total of only eight shows, this is an extremely rare piece enhanced by its set of uncommonly large signatures.
