Color vintage 5.25 x 3.25 postcard photo of a B. O. A. C. Rolls Royce 707 jetliner, nicely signed on the reverse in black ballpoint, “George Harrison,” “Paul McCartney,” and “John Lennon,” and signed and inscribed in blue ballpoint, “To Peter, Best wishes, Jimmie Nicol.” Signatures were obtained either on June 7 or 8, 1964, during a flight between London and Hong Kong when The Beatles were flying out for their tour of Hong Kong, Australia, and New Zealand. Accompanied by a letter of provenance stating the signatures were obtained by a stewardess on the flight and a certificate of authenticity from Tracks. In very good condition, with slight area of soiling over beginning of Lennon’s signature, mild toning, surface impressions and soiling to image side, and a few creases. Nicol replaced Ringo Starr from June 3–15, 1964, at the start of the Beatles’ World Tour, while Ringo was suffering from tonsillitis and pharyngitis. An extremely rare offering, as Nicol was with the Beatles for slightly more than a week.
