<B>Beatles</B></I> <B><I>Yesterday and Today</B></I></B></I> <B>Third State Butcher Cover Mono LP (Capitol 2553, 1966).</B></I> What <I>were</B></I> they thinking? According to the Foursome -- nothing -- just goofing around in a photo shoot that wasn't intended to produce an album cover! But it did turn into an album cover, albeit an abbreviated pressing version, that's now sought after worldwide. The song selection includes the classic "Yesterday," plus other big hits "We Can Work It Out," "Day Tripper," and "Nowhere Man," but this copy's main feature is the butcher cover. Our offering is a "Third State" cover, one that had been pasted over with the "Trunk Cover", and later carefully peeled to reveal the original. This one appears great from the front -- looks NM 8 -- but there's some repair on the back and spine, with a resulting overall condition grade of VG-EX 6. Still, it's a pretty nice copy, and it's the <I>butcher cover,</B></I> man! The record is in fine shape, or Excellent 7 to be more specific.
