Highly sought-after Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band album signed on the inside gatefold in blue ballpoint by Paul McCartney, and in black ballpoint by Ringo Starr and George Harrison. In fine condition. The record is included. Accompanied by a full letter of authenticity from noted Beatles expert Frank Caiazzo, in part: “The autographs were obtained individually by former Beatles press officer and ‘inner circle member’ Derek Taylor, and given as a gift to a longtime senior executive in the music business who befriended Taylor when they both worked together at Warner Bros. Records. The signatures were obtained by Derek in the late 1980’s, and each represents an excellent and complete example from the period, signed as nicely as they could have for their close friend. ‘Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band’ is one of the most desirable LP titles of all time to have signed and this one is fabulous in every respect, in light of its exceptional provenance.” Taylor became a trusted confidant of The Beatles while proofing the special columns George Harrison would write in the Daily Express. He was later hired as the band’s press officer in early 1964, and then after a short stay in California, was lured back to England by Harrison to assume the same position at Apple Records, a job he maintained up and until the band’s dissolution in 1970. His loyalty to the band earned him particularly strong friendships with George, John, and Ringo. A tremendous thrice-signed example of the most desirable and beloved Beatles album, enhanced furthermore by its rock solid provenance and crisp, legible signatures. A delightfully vibrant display piece.
