Exceptionally desirable collection of three business checks and one receipt representing each member of the Beatles, including: an Apple Publishing Ltd. check filled out in another hand and signed by John Lennon, payable to Harrisongs Ltd. for £1056-02, dated July 26, 1971; an Apple Management Ltd. check filled out in another hand and signed by Ringo Starr, “R. Starkey,” payable to a photographic company for £12-38, dated August 1, 1973; a Harrisongs Ltd. check filled out in another hand and signed by George Harrison, payable to Apple Corps Ltd. for £20-70, dated February 1, 1972; and a receipt from Cave Photography for various photography supplies, 5 x 6.25, March 17, 1967, signed across the center by Paul McCartney. All four items are nicely double-matted and framed with two group photos to an overall size of 38 x 22. Oversized. In very good to fine condition, with Starr’s signature fairly light but still legible, cancellation stamps and holes affecting portions of Lennon’s signature, a bank stamp touching the top of Harrison’s signature, and last portion of McCartney’s signature very light. A fine display of all four Beatles members, made especially desirable due to their associations with one another—notably, Lennon’s is an Apple check made payable to Harrisongs, while Harrison’s is a Harrisongs check payable to Apple. These also date to the period of the Beatles’ turmoil and breakup, and complete sets of signatures from these years are quite difficult to assemble.
