Exceptionally rare 1963 Parlophone mono first pressing of the With the Beatles album (with misspelled ‘You Really Gotta Hold On Me’), signed on the front in the white upper border in black ballpoint, “John Lennon,” “Paul McCartney,” “George Harrison,” and “Love, Ringo Starr, xxx.” In very good to fine condition, with light scuffing and creasing, and some ink adhesion troubles due to ballpoint interacting with the slick surface; an inscription by Starr has been very skillfully removed, leaving only the subtlest indication. The record is included. Accompanied by a letter of provenance from the original recipient and a letter of authenticity from noted Beatles expert Frank Caiazzo, who notes that the “album was autographed by The Beatles on November 24th, 1963, just two days following its release, when the band performed in concert at the ABC Cinema in Hull, England. This is a desirable and rare front signed Beatles album cover, and one of only a handful of ‘With the Beatles’ covers signed on the front which have surfaced to date.”
