Extremely rare 1963 PYX Productions Limited program for the Beatles, 7.25 x 9.5, twenty-eight pages, signed on the front cover in fountain pen, “Paul McCartney,” in blue ballpoint, “John Lennon” and “Ringo Starr,” and in black ballpoint, “George Harrison, xxx.” The front cover features Dezo Hoffman’s iconic photograph of the band in their matching gray collarless suits. In very good to fine condition, with a central vertical fold, edge wear and surface loss to right edge, an ownership signature above McCartney’s, and some light foxing (mainly to reverse).

Accompanied by a letter of provenance from the original recipient, in part: “This booklet was issued for the visit by the Beatles to St. Helier, Jersey, Channel Islands in August 1963. A friend and I attended two of their concerts and having found where they were staying, we left our copies on the desk in the hotel foyer. George Harrison came back earlier…and kindly signed his name plus three xxx’s! John, Paul and Ringo duly arrived and signed all the programs, of which there were possibly a dozen…The Beatles could be seen driving around freely on the island in their convertible and would often stop to offer people a ride. This happened to us in the area of St. Brelade’s bay, but we declined as we were going in the opposite direction!” The Fab Four played a series of five shows on the Channel Islands between the dates of August 6th and 10th, with a lone show at Guernsey’s Candie Gardens bookended by four performances at Jersey’s The Springfield Ballroom. Only a few days prior, the Beatles had played at the Cavern Club for the final time. With Hoffman imagery and a crisp cast of signatures, this is an immensely desirable program signed during the nascent stages of Beatlemania. Pre-certified REAL.
