Rare and outstanding UK mono pressing of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band album signed on the inner gatefold in black ballpoint by Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, and John Lennon, who signs his first name only and adds “X.” In fine condition, with trivial wear to upper left corner tip, and the Starr and McCartney signatures a shade light. The record is included. Accompanied by three contemporary reprints of photos taken at time of signing; two identical images of McCartney, and one of Starr. Also accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Tracks and a letter of provenance from the original recipient, Carole Wilson.

The signatures were obtained outside of E.M.I.’s Abbey Road Studios on June 23, 1967, following rehearsals for the Beatles’ scheduled appearance on Our World, the world’s first live satellite–television broadcast and a production that would reach an estimated international audience of 400 million. Featuring other creative artists like Maria Callas and Pablo Picasso, the show culminated with the Beatles’ orchestra-supported performance of ‘All You Need Is Love.’ Composed exclusively for the record-breaking showcase, the song was created as an opportunity to spread a message of love during the height of the Vietnam War. Despite the absence of George Harrison’s signature, this gorgeously maintained and visually appealing Sgt. Pepper’s album is enhanced by its great associative content and rock solid provenance, and marks the first time we’ve offered this landmark record with a set of three Beatles signatures.
