Collection of five unique original vintage circa 1965 candid photos of the Beatles in France, all taken and printed over 50 years ago, including: a deckle-edge 2.75 x 3.75 side-angle snapshot of John Lennon, Ringo Starr, Paul McCartney, and George Harrison posing for a photo, with a French annotation on the reverse stating that they were posing for the photographer Jean Marie Perier of SLC Magazine; a 3.5 x 3.5 photo of Paul in profile as he briskly walks past; a deckle-edge 3.75 x 2.75 photo of the four Beatles walking in the street, with a French annotation on the reverse identifying the location as the Bois de Boulogne park in Paris; a 3.5 x 3.5 photo of Paul and Ringo in a hotel corridor; and a deckle-edge 3.5 x 3.5 shot of Ringo holding a carton of Marlboro cigarettes. In overall fine condition. The Beatles opened their 1965 European tour in France, playing two shows at the Palais des Sports in Paris on June 20 and two shows at the Palais d'Hiver in Lyon on June 22; they then played eight shows in Italy before returning to Nice on June 30th for a single set at the Palais des Expositions. A rare compilation of unseen candids from their last tour of Europe.
