Extremely uncommon color 23 x 27.75 print entitled “Aeroplane Windows,” showing McCartney’s face through the window of an airplane, taken on May 2, 2003, in Copenhagen, signed in the lower border in pencil. Also signed in pencil by the photographer Bill Bernstein. Affixed to the reverse is a certificate of authenticity from Proud Galleries, embossed with a Paul McCartney 2003 World Tour stamp at the top, signed in blue ink by both McCartney and Bernstein. Rolled and in fine condition, with a few mild edge and corner creases. Accompanied by a hardcover edition of the book Paul McCartney: On Stage, Off Stage, and Backstage, featuring Bernstein’s photo.
McCartney commissioned photographers, including Bernstein, to chronicle his life on the road and document his 2002-2003 world tour, with only 43 images selected to be signed by Sir Paul and then auctioned in 2006 through London-based Proud Galleries. An extremely rare and desirable one-of-a-kind item amounting to two McCartney autographs—one on the print and the other on the COA!
