Rare Capitol Records 'Compact 33' 7-inch promo record for an "Open-End Interview with The Beatles," with side one featuring 'I Want to Hold Your Hand,' and side two featuring 'This Boy / It Won't Be Long.' Includes original black-and-white picture sleeve. In fine condition, with some scattered creasing to the sleeve. To promote the Meet the Beatles album and their forthcoming first visit to America, Capitol Records organized an 'open-end' interview with the Beatles and sent the recording over to American radio stations in early 1964. The 'open end' format of the interview-the original voice of the interviewer was edited out of the recording-allowed local disc jockeys to read scripted questions along with the recording to sound as if they were personally conducting the interview. A highly desirable and early promo record from the Fab Four.
