Original 8 x 10.25 concert program from the March 13,1963, Chris Montez and Tommy Roe concert, featuring the Beatles, signed and inscribed in blue ballpoint on their two-page spread, “To Ann, love, Paul McCartney xxx,” and “To Anne, Love from George Harrison xxx.” Program is also signed by Chris Montez, and twice by Tommy Roe. In good condition, with previous owner’s name and address penned on the title page, both covers detached, moderate wrinkling and creasing to all pages, and small edge tears to some of the pages and covers. Both the signatures remain crisp and prominent. Accompanied by a letter of authenticity from noted Beatles expert Frank Caiazzo, a certificate of authenticity from Tracks, a letter of authenticity from Perry Cox, and a letter of provenance from the original recipient, reading, “The Paul McCartney and George Harrison autographs obtained at the Rialto Theatre, York, on 13.3.1963. John Lennon was ill that night.”

Lennon had been under the weather for a few days, forcing the Beatles to take to the stage as a three-piece band for the second time in as many nights, appearing on the same bill as fellow singers—and concert program signers—Tommy Roe and Chris Montez. It was the Fab Four’s second stop at the Rialto in a month, but the throngs of screaming weren’t any less excited as the Beatles performed ‘Love Me Do,’ ‘Misery,’ ‘A Taste of Honey,’ ‘Do You Want to Know a Secret,’ ‘Please Please Me,’ and ‘I Saw Her Standing There.’ Exceptional provenance!
