Bank check, 8 x 4, filled out in another hand and signed “John Lennon,” payable to Lugton & Co. Ltd. for £12.19, June 3, 1970. Encapsulated in a plastic PSA/DNA authentication holder grading the autograph “MINT 9.” Two punch holes at the top, bank stamps and cancellations, a red pencil mark touching his last name, and show-through from two pieces of white tape on the reverse, otherwise fine condition. Two months before Lennon presented this check to the Lugton Brewery, a Scottish brewer, Paul McCartney publicly announced the break-up of The Beatles.
