Signed book: Grapefruit. Second edition. NY: Simon & Schuster, 1970. Hardcover with dust jacket, 5.75 x 5.5. Signed and inscribed in black felt tip on the first free end page to Swiss actor and theater critic Pierre Biner, “To Pierre, with love, Yoko Ono,” and “and her famous husband John Lennon 71!” adding self portrait caricatures of himself and Yoko. Autographic condition: fine. Book condition: VG+/VG. White paper-covered boards; minor wear to corners and very slight soiling along edges; light soiling to endpapers. Dust jacket in protective mylar sleeve; light creasing and few tiny tears to edges (almost exclusively at corners and spine-ends); one larger tear (approximately 1?) at front lower edge; light soiling and orange discoloration. A charming and witty example of Lennon taking a back seat to his wife’s work, as she presents her art in America, at the same time the Beatles were dissolving.
