Signed book: First Aid in English. Glasgow: Robert Gibson and Sons. Softcover, 5.5 x 7.5, 110 pages. Signed on the first page, “George Harrison, 25 Upton Green, Liverpool.” In very good condition, with uniform light toning to all pages, as well as several ink and pencil notations to signed page, fragile spine, partial separation to front cover, toning and soiling to covers and spine, and moderate surface loss to spine. Accompanied by a letter of authenticity from noted Beatles expert Frank Caiazzo who writes: “George has signed his name, and has written out ‘25 Upton Green, Liverpool,’ which was the address of the home he grew up in, starting at age 7. This is a very early signature, signed by George in his early teens, and is rare in this form.”

This was Harrison’s 1958 high school English grammar book used during the Quarrymen period. The address listed by George inside the book was a regular practice location for the Quarrymen and later The Beatles. According to the consignor, only one other Beatles schoolbook has ever come up for sale. A significantly rare piece of Beatles early history!
