A young Asian girl is the center of this spontaneous picture by Swiss artist Beat Streuli (born 1957). Many questions arise: What music is she listening to? What is she looking at? Where does she come from and where does she go? In the vibrant city life, where people get lost in the shuffle, a girl becomes the center motif of an image – a girl with its microcosm, its sorrows and joys, and its individual beauty.

The work is signed in black ink on the back, numbered and dated ‘Beat Streuli 4/20 2000 '. The condition of the work is good showing slight wear. The photo paper has some pressure and crease marks, especially at the top. The image dimensions are 84 x 67.5 cm.

Beat Streuli (born 1957)
The Swiss photography, video and installation artist Beat Streuli was born in Altdorf in 1957. He studied at the schools of Design in Basel and Zurich, and finally at the University of Arts in Berlin. His favorite subject is the human being in the public space of the city. He usually presents young pedestrians in a kind of snapshot photography, focusing on the facial expressions of the people. His video works mostly run simultaneously on three monitors; his slide or digital projects are often shown on six or more projectors. Streuli now lives in Zurich and Brussels.
