Pre-Stamp Cover, 1854, Bombay to Multan, Bearing 1As., dispatched from Bombay, bearing a rectangular postmark in three-lines “BOMBAY | 3 OCT 1854 | Bearg. 1 AS”, Type 92 BC. It is addressed to “Mooltan”, but was erroneously delivered at Hyderabad on 9th October, the postmark in Black ink “HYD | RA BAD | OC 9” within a circle. It was then redirected to the place of destination, and a Bluish Green postmark of “MULTAN | OCT 12 | 54” was applied, cover is with a letter, good condition, one of the rarest cancellations of Bombay, Extremely Rare.

Note: Multan was a city in Punjab during the British Indian Empire on the bank of the Chenab river, currently, it is in the Punjab province of Pakistan.
