Kleinsorge. Not cancelled. Black border and print, with two vignettes: mine/mill (center) and bear (left border). No printer listed. Folds, very nice condition. 4 x 9.5" In 1875, it was reported that the company's mines were located a few miles from Sheridan, on the Oregon Railroad. The company wanted the ore worked into pig iron in San Francisco. According to a March 1877 article in the Marysville Daily Appeal, the company was formed to develop a great iron mine near the Bear River Mills, about two miles from Albion Flat and Albion Hill. There was significant iron ore, and a bonus surprise: tellurium. The company had discovered silver ore. The vein was 30 feet thick. Nevada County California 1877
