Tintype of gentleman with tall hat. Case seems flawless.

Poor ambrotype of woman. Another oval mat and preserver over the pad on the inside cover.

The darkest tintype I’ve seen. Central motif of the case is fine, but the edges and corners are troubled.

Nice ambrotype of young woman. Some minor wear at case corners. Velvet pad is worn.

Mundane tintype. Case has a hardly visible diagonal repair on the cover.

Tintype of a baby. Case seems flawless but for one tiny narrow dig in edge of one base side.

Good quality ambrotype on ruby glass of a gentleman. Case has some wear a nicks along edge of cover.

Ambrotype of a gentleman, “Gramp Rice 1870” written behind. Case seems flawless.

Lovely ambrotype of a young woman is fine. This is the case back only, with crack near hinge.

Tintype of a man is sealed. Case has cracks near hinge.

Tintype of a man. Thick case with outside hinge. 2 small bruises on the framing lip of the cover.

Tintype of a woman’s head. Small break at clasp on cover.

Tintype with great spreading oxidization giving the man a grotesque appearance.

Ambrotype of a lady. Case has small chips at two of the back corner tips.

Tintype of a man. Case has just one tiny nick in the top edge of the cover.

Of course you don’t need to use it for collars. The cover with the motif is fine.
