The lot features a brass flag pole end or piece which was recovered at the Little Bighorn River area by a Crow family, used during the Battle of the Little Bighorn. The piece comes with paperwork from The Guns of History stating this to be a brass flag pole tip which was recovered near the Little Bighorn River where the Cheyenne camp was set during the Battle of the Little Bighorn collected by a Crow Montana family on their own land. Wendell Grangaard notes that Austin Two Moons gave testimony that the Cheyenne recovered a flag by Last Stand Hill at the Battle of the Little Bighorn that had white crossed swords, it was found and given to Two Moon (the family member of Austin Two Moon) who rode into the Cheyenne camp with the flag. Said to be the Sgt. Robert H. Hughes, Company K, 7th Cavalry Personal Guidon of General George Armstrong Custer’s flag. This object is truly a piece of history, and it comes with paperwork.
