Battalion Marked British Third Model Brown Bess Flintlock Musket with Bayonet
Bayonet lug front sight and shallow groove rear sight, with a "crown/ GP/ arrow" and a crossed scepter proof on the upper left side of the chamber. Lock plate is lightly marked "1805" over a stamped "TOWER" at the rear and large crown/GR with a crown/arrow proof in front, along with "1805". The right side of the barrel and buttplate tang are later marked "1805". Smooth straight grip stock with brass forend tip, ramrod pipes, trigger guard, side plate and buttplate. The left side of the buttstock is marked "QUEENS / 21 Bat NSM / 195", with the number "4" and the letters "TF" on the left stock flat. Complete with white leather sling, button tipped iron ramrod and a socket bayonet. The bayonet has a 17 inch blade marked "I. SLATER" and a crown/29 proof.

Condition: Very good. The barrel has a cleaned bright gray patina with a darker patina on the action. There is even minor pitting with heavier flash pitting. The brass is fine. The revarnished stock is fine with a few repaired chips and some minor handling marks. The bayonet is good with a cleaned bright gray patina with some minor spotting and a slightly curved blade.
