Batman Returns Missile Launching Penguin
In 1992's “Batman Returns”, arch villain Oswald Cobbepot, aka The Penguin (Danny DeVito) battles Batman (Michael Keaton), and all of Gotham City by creating a flock of missile-carrying penguins that have special brain plates to control their minds so they can go all over the city like suicide bombers and create total destruction. However, at the last minutes, Batman is able to jam the frequency used to control the penguins and has them launch their missiles directly at the Penguin's base instead, collimating in the Penguin falling into the toxic waters to his death! These killer Penguin's became one of Burton's most inventive creations and a highlight in this delightful sequel. This is an actual screen used bombing Penguin, equipped with special straps to both hold its backpack launcher with attached deadly missile, and a special brain plate and cap and wiring to control their minds and tell them when and where their missiles are to be launched! The fully realized body of the penguin and the strapping's, launcher, and mind-control hardware are all made of industrial rubber, as are the flippers and feet, and then carefully painted and airbrushed for realism. The missile itself is made of wood. This grand prop is balanced and mounted on a custom wood stand for display. Comes with a COA. One of the most unique props from the entire "Batman" franchise! (Full size penguin is approx. 20"x6"x 7", missile is approx. 12", and the custom display stand is approx. 7"x6")
