The daughter of author Maura Laverty, Barry Castle studied art at NCAD. Since
then she has illustrated numerous books including her mother’s book, The Queen
of Aran’s Daughter. Many of the originals for her illustrative work are now
housed in the National Library of Ireland. She has also exhibited regularly
since the 1970s in Dublin, Cork and London, and more recently has shown annually
with the RHA.
