Baron Von Stuben: Order and Disciplines of the Troops of the United States.
American Revolution
1794 Book “Order and Disiplines of the Troops...” By Baron de Stuben
1794-Dated Federal Period, Printed Book Titled, “Regulations for the Order and Disiplines of the Troops of the United States,” by Baron de Stuben, Very Fine.
This Hardcover Book was originally published just after the American Revolutionary War. It is fully titled, “Regulations for the Order and Disciplines of the Troops of the United States.” Also included is, “An Appendix Containing the United States’ Militia Act, Passed on Congress, May, 1792.” The title page also tells us that this is, “A new Edition, illustrated by eight Copperplates, accurately engraved.” Authored “By Baron de Stuben, Late Major General and Inspector General of the Army of the United States.” Book measures 4.25” x 6.5”, with 91 pages,” Printed at Exeter by Henry Ranlet, for Thomas & Andres, Faust’s Statue, No. 46, Newbury-Street, Boston, MDCCXCIV.” Excellent interior condition considering its age, some minor tone, chipping and minor splits to some pages. The first of the fold-out engravings is separated at its outer vertical fold, with glue stains from an old tape repair. The back cover is missing its bottom quarter portion. The eight Copperplate illustrations are clean, accurately engraved and wonderful to study.
