Unsigned handwritten notes as president, one page, 3 x 3, Hilton hotel letterhead, no date but likely circa 2012. In addition to circling the hotel's logo and doodling a square in the lower right corner, President Obama has written "Fink," "NEC—Policy," "Roger Altman," and "Mike Froman." "NEC" surely refers to the National Economic Council, established in 1993 to advise the president on domestic and global economic policy. The names on the sheet are similarly related to economics: Froman is a lawyer who would serve as US Trade Representative from 2013 to 2017; Altman is an investment banker who Obama interviewed as a potential candidate to replace Larry Summers as director of the National Economic Council; and Fink surely refers to Larry Fink of BlackRock, who Obama was considering taking on as an economic advisor. In fine condition. Accompanied by a letter of provenance from Samuel Sutton, who was President Obama's personal valet, and who worked in such capacity in the White House in both the Obama and Bush administrations.
