This Banner Buggies silver advertising spoon is rare!

Circa 1900s, when buggies were still in use, Banner Buggies commissioned William Rogers Silver Company to produce these spoons for their advertising. They also used forks and stickpins, among other items, for their giveaways.

The 6-inch long spoon with a bowl wide enough to be used for serving jelly, has a detailed impressed replica of a buggy of the time bordered by the words "BANNER" and "BUGGIES" on the top and bottom. The handle as well as the bowl of the spoon has an ornate floral design.

The buggy, as the pictures show, is headed from right to left on the bowl of the spoon, with the seat toward the right half of the bowl. It has the spoked buggy wheels.

According to online court papers dating from 1912 on the Oklahoma State Court Network, Banner Buggies were made in St. Louis by Gardner Banner Buggy Company.

The spoon is in excellent condition! It will make a wonderful addition to a collection!
