Band of Brothers (2001) - Col. Robert F. Sink (Dale Dye) WW2 Belt, Canteen & Holster.
Original WW2 Belt, Canteen & Holster used by "Col. Robert F. Sink", played by Dale Dye in the war drama miniseries 'Band of Brothers' (2001), created by Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks.
These are all real items from the era.
The series dramatizes the history of "Easy" Company, 2nd Battalion, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, of the 101st Airborne Division, from jump training in the United States through its participation in major actions in Europe, up until Japan's capitulation and the end of World War II
The series won Emmy and Golden Globe awards in 2001 for best miniseries.
Mr Dye is famous for being one of the top military technical advisers in Hollyood. Dye was determined to make Hollywood's depictions of battle more realistic. He pitched fellow Vietnam War veteran Oliver Stone a plan to put actors through a mock boot camp before production of the movie Platoon. Dye put the principal actors—including Charlie Sheen, Willem Dafoe, Johnny Depp, and Forest Whitaker—through an immersive 30-day military-style training regimen. He limited how much food and water they received; when the actors slept, he fired blanks to keep the tired actors awake. Dye, who had a small role in the movie as Captain Harris, also wrote the novelization based on Stone's screenplay.
