TLS signed “B. B. Johnson,” one page, 8.25 x 11, American League Professional Base Ball Club of Chicago letterhead, August 30, 1915. Letter to T. L. Huston, secretary of the New York Yankees. In full: “I have approved and return herewith contracts with the following New York players: B. B. Meadows—1915 and 1916, Ernest Krueger—1915, Walter C. Pipp—1916.” In very good condition, with irregular overall toning and substantial spreading and feathering to ink. Years later, Pipp would famously be replaced as the Yankees first baseman by Lou Gehrig.
