Balthazar "Balthus" Klossowski de Rola Signed Postcard. Signed: "Balthus", 5.75" x 4.25", np, nd. This postcard features one of Balthus' works entitled The Living Room, painted around 1941. The painting is typical of Balthus' well-known anti-modern style. Balthus is know for his paintings of young girls, sometimes in pseudo-erotic contexts, however, he always denied that they were pornographic in nature. His work was highly influenced by Surrealists like de Chirico, but mostly his work was his own. An interesting figure as well, Balthus is one of the only artists to see his work in a collection at the Louvre while he was still alive. The postcard is in very fine condition; three small stains present on the reverse; postcard is not written on; signature is bold and crisp.

Important not
