Original vintage 1944 Ballet Theatre program, 9 x 12, full of images and biographies of various performers. Signed inside in ink by most of the company dancers as well as by a remarkable group of entertainers who attended a performance. Signers on the title page include: Judy Garland, Mickey Rooney, Charlie Chaplin, Oona Chaplin, Anna May Wong (also signing in Chinese characters), Janet Gaynor, Alexis Smith, Craig Stevens, John Carradine, J. Carroll Naish, Anne Shirley, Irma Wise, Akim Tamiroff, and Marjorie Woodworth. Several dancers have signed the interior pages next to their respective image, including Jerome Robbins, Anton Dolin, Nora Kaye, Hugh Laing, Andre Eglevsky, Lucia Chase, Paul Petroff, Rosella Hightower, Antony Tudor, John Kriza, Nicholas Orloff, Miriam Golden, Mimi Gomber, Rozsika Sabo, Shirley Eckl, Simon Semenoff, Maria Karnilova, Michael Kidd, Barbara Fallis, Virginia Wilcox, Doreen Oswald, Rex Cooper, Alpheus Koon, Fernando Alonso, and John Taras. In very good condition, with scattered creasing, edge toning, light soiling, and old tape repair to spine and cover that has stained a portion of the title page over Shirley’s signature.
