Single shot rifle with heavy weight 32" octagon barrel, double set triggers, vernier rear tang sight and steel crescent buttplate. Left side of receiver is marked J.M. Marlin New Haven, Conn. USA Ballard Patent Nov. 5, 1861. Visible tracecolors of case hardening on receiver, deep brown patina to the barrel with visible blue to protected areas. Wood shows original remaining finish with wear to the fore stock on palm area with normal handling and storage dings and dents.Very good bore and action. ANTIQUE
