<B>Ball 156 Cr. 116 $100 1863 Bond Fine.</B></I> We are fortunate to have all four Erlanger bond denominations in this auction. All denominations for this issue carry a wonderful vignette of the <I>Confederacy.</B></I> This $100 bond has 36 coupons as is the common case. All Erlanger bonds have an embossed British tax stamp as they were printed in London. The bonds are printed in English and French and denominated in pounds sterling and francs. A little paper separation along the folds is noticed on this example. It also shows aging in the middle third section. The Erlanger bonds are signed by Confederate diplomat John Slidell. Much history surrounds these popular bonds.<BR><I>From The William A.
