Blade front sight on the smooth concave solid rib marked "Syracuse N.Y. DAMASCUS STEEL.". The top of the action is marked "PAT'D DEC 1" and "388" over a "43". The barrel lug is marked "388". The shotgun barrels are 12 gauge, choked modified/modified, with extractor and the rifle barrel is approximately 44 CF caliber. The barrels are blue with casehardened remaining parts. The sides of the action are marked "BAKER PAT" and the locks are light scroll engraved. Tang mounted sight, double triggers, with the forward trigger also serving as the break release and mounted with a checkered walnut forearm secured by a single wedge and round knob pistol grip stock with a steel buttplate.

Condition: Partially period refinished, the barrels with scattered blue finish remaining in protected areas, a brown patina on the balance and almost all of the Damascus pattern remaining. The action and locks retain traces of original case colors with a smooth gray patina on the balance. The buttplate is ill-fitting on the toe and has a smooth mottled gray patina. The wood is very good with a number of minor dings and scratches on the stock and some minor wear and bruising to the otherwise crisp checkering. The mechanics are fine.
