This animation cel and reproduction background are from the Nickelodeon TV show SpongeBob Squarepants. The story takes place under the deep blue sea in Bikini Bottom, where SpongeBob resides. SpongeBob, who is a yellow, porous sponge, is your typical happy-go-lucky character, as he is always cheerful and enjoys making people laugh. Patrick Star, SpongeBob's neighbor who is a starfish, is your average children's show idiot, as he boasts knowing nothing and is often getting himself into ridiculous situations.Between the homes of these two lies the home of the miserable Squidward, a squid, who is known for being grouchy and playing tricks on SpongeBob and Patrick. Both SpongeBob and Squidward work at the Krusty Krab, a fast food business run by the greedy money-loving Mr. Krabs, a crab, the arch rival of the evil, possibly misunderstood, Plankton. Another neighbor, Sandy Cheeks, an athletic squirrel who normally wears an astronaut's space suit, was introduced in "Tea at the Treedome." She spends most of her time inventing and experimenting. * * Krusty appears to be getting mixed signals from his companions; not quite sure if his idea will work... * * Original Printed Background and Animated Cel Overall Size of Background: 11" x 17" Overall Size of the Cel: 10 1/2" x 12 1/2" Excellent Condition * This is an original hand-painted cel set-up used in the production of an episode of "SpongeBob SquarePants", titled Squeaky Boots. Each one-of-a-kind set-up represents a slight change in position of the characters. When individually photographed and projected in rapid succession, the images appear to move. * To create production cels, the original animator's drawing is transferred ont oan acetate cel (by hand-inking and/or photo copying). The cel is then hand-painted on the reverse side. The background accompanying this set-up is a reproduction background. * The printed background and cel are ready to be matted and framed. The notations are located at the bottom of both. The cel is multi-layered: first is Krusty, then a blue fish and pink fish, followed by a gray fish and squid . The Nickelodeon logo is located at the bottom right of the first cel. * *
