Exceptional color 8.25 x 10.25 Bachrach photo, in its original 10.25 x 13.25 photographer’s mat, signed on the mat in black ink, “Joannes Paulus pp II, 5.1.1985.” In fine condition, with light paperclip mark to top edge of mat, as well as a couple trivial spots. Photo is an original made from the negative and housed in its original Bachrach folder. Accompanied by a letter of provenance from Monsignor Emery Cabongo, secretary to the Holy Father, stating: “Mr. Abdul Woheed from the Embassy of Pakistan to Italy asked me to obtain for you the autograph of his Holiness Pope John Paul II. I did so and I am sending you the enclosed picture that has been given by your Embassy.” Provenance: The Barry Hoffman Collection.
