Vintage glossy 8.75 x 6.5 photo of Ruth in his Yankee pinstripes, leaning into the front row of Yankee Stadium’s box seats next to his wife, Claire, and likely the couple’s close friend, Matty Martin, signed and inscribed in fountain pen, “To Matty Martin from Babe Ruth.” Matted and framed to an overall size of 16 x 13.5. A few small and very subtle dings and surface marks, and slight contrast to a few letters of signature against shadow, otherwise fine, clean condition. It is conceivable that the scene was the 1932 World Series—the final series of Ruth’s illustrious career.
