Babe Ruth's Own Book of Baseball, was actually written by Ford Frick when the future baseball commissioner was a New York sportswriter. In the book, Ruth described baseball, position by position, in a folksy manner that further endeared him to the ‘common man.’ Through the book, Ruth—and Frick—created many of the humorous tall tales about the game...and the man...that have gone on to become baseball lore.
