Vintage sepia matte-finish 7.5 x 9.5 Sussman studio portrait, signed and inscribed in fountain pen, “To ‘Doc’ Searle, A Regular honest to God fellow. From Babe Ruth Nov 7th 1926.” Slight surface creases at upper right border, trimmed edges, poor contrast of the year against its dark background, and silvering to the darker portions, otherwise fine condition. A month earlier, in Game 4 of the 1926 World Series, Ruth became the first player to hit three home runs in a Fall Classic.
