Vintage sepia matte-finish 7.5 x 9.5 Sussman portrait of a well-groomed and neatly attired Ruth, signed and inscribed in fountain pen “To ‘Doc’ Searle, A Regular honest to God fellow, From Babe Ruth, Nov 7th 1926.” In very good to fine condition, with trimmed edges, surface creases at upper right edge that can be easily matted over if so desired, silvering to some of the darker portions, all writing a shade light, and poor contrast of the “1926” against his dark jacket. Just a month earlier, Ruth became the first player to hit three home runs in a World Series game. Accompanied by a full letter of authenticity from PSA/DNA, as well as a letter of authenticity from James Spence.
