Delightful Bunnykins milk jug/pitcher.

In 1934 Barbara Vernon Bailey created the first Bunnykins
design for her father, Cuthbert Bailey, managing director of
Royal Doulton. Sister Mary Barbara, an Augustinian nun,
continued designing until 1952. She was succeeded by Hubert
Light (who designed the border and backstamp) and then Walter
Hayward.

This pitcher shows the Bunnykins having breakfast. Father
reads his paper while a maid supervises the children. On one
side the
Papa steps outside to enjoy his pipe and escape the carrying-
ons of his adorably mischevious offspring. A ring of rabbits
circles the top.

Pitcher measures 6-1/4 inches handle-to-spout, 4
diameter, 5-1/4 tall.

Very good overall condition. Please note there is a tight
stress crack around the top of the handle. It can also be seen on
the interior (see photo). This stress is not very easy to see. No
other chips, cracks or repairs.

Made mid 20th C.

Marked as shown with Bunnykins and Royal Doulton
Australian export backstamps. Made in England.

Please see our GoAntiques inventory for more Bunnykins
nursery items, as well as fine antiques of all kinds.
