(BUNDY, THEODORE TED )
(1946 - 1989) American mass murderer who left up to 28 women dead across the states of Washington, Utah, Colorado, and finally Florida where he was convicted of double murder in the notorious "Chi Omega" sorority murders. Despite having twice escaped jail, Bundy was finally unable to escape conviction and the Florida electric chair. Historically important document (unsigned), 1p. legal folio, Circuit Court, 11th Judicial Circuit of Florida, Miami, July 30, 1979, being the note passed to the judge by Jury Foreman Rudolph Trent (who has signed), recommending that Bundy be given the death sentence. It reads, in part: "…ADVISORY SENTENCE FOR THE CAPITAL CRIME OF MUDER IN THE FIRST DEGREE upon one Lisa Levy…We, a majority of the Jury…recommend that the court impose the sentence of Death…So Say the Majority…". With various court clerk stamps and notations, very good. Levy was one of the Chi Omega victims, and it was evidence yielded by her remains that essentially convicted Bundy. Bundy did, however, undertake countless appeals which proved fruitless and culminated in his execution in January, 1989.
