BUNDY, THEODORE TED
(1946 - 1989) American mass murderer who left up to 28 women dead across the states of Washington, Utah, Colorado, and finally Florida where he was convicted of double murder in the notorious "Chi Omega" sorority murders. Despite having twice escaped jail, Bundy was finally unable to escape conviction and the Florida electric chair. Excessively rare, fine content D.S. "Theodore Robert Bundy", 4pp. folio, Leon Co., Florida, May 8, 1979, a set of evidence affidavits of two lawyer/professors at Florida State University (the same university where Bundy committed his murders), alleging that local publicity would prevent Bundy from receiving a fair trial in Leon County. The final document is Bundy's own signed and notarized affidavit stating his complaints, in part: "…the combined effects of the massive prejudicial pretrial publicity…and the acts of Sheriff Katsaris…create an atmosphere of hostility towards me [and] have so infected the general state of mind…with prejudice, bias, and preconceived opinions that jurors could not possible put these matters out of their minds…". Additionally, each document bears Bundy's numbered exhibit tag, with the first page bearing "Defendant's Exhibit #1" sticker. Files holes at top, near fine condition. For some time, Bundy acted as his own defense counsel.
