<B>Harold Dow Bugbee/Lowman Collection.</B></I> The Bugbee component of this catalog contains 97 entries including such rarities as the cloth-bound version of <I>Guadal P'A: The Journal of Lieutenant of J.W. Abert from Bent's Fort to St. Louis in 1845</B></I> (item 1), John Houghton Allen's <I>San Juan</B></I> (item 2), and the golden anniversary edition of the Amarillo Globe-News from 1938, which gained Bugbee his widest audience to that time (item 3). Beyond the first three items in the catalog, collectors should be pleased to see Bob Beverley's hand-signed copy of <I>Hobo of the Rangeland</B></I> (item 7). There is also a rare portfolio of Christmas cards (item 16) and H. Bailey Carroll's <I>Texas County Histories: A Bibliography</B></I> (item 19). For the collector of J. Evetts Haley's work, there is an inscribed copy of his biography of Charles Goodnight with an endpaper pen-and-ink drawing of a buffalo by Bugbee dated 1936, the year of publication (item 36). Also for the Haley enthusiast is a complete set of the <I>Haley-Bugbee-George Autry Christmas</B></I> (item 38). Finally, there are two copies of the <I>XIT Brand</B></I> from 1939 and 1940 (see items 93 and 94). This is a charity auction. All proceeds from donated lots in the auction, commissions from consigned lots, and the buyer's premium go solely to the Texas State Historical Association. The floor auction session is by invitation only. Online bidding ends March 3, 2006 at 10:00PM CT. Your secret maximum bid will compete for you during the floor auction, and it is possible that you may be outbid on the floor after internet bidding closes. The applicable buyer's premium for this auction is an amount equal to 15% (minimum $9 per lot) of the successful bid on ebay.
