BUDENNY, SEMION M.
(1883 - 1973) Soviet field marshal and Commander in Chief of the Southwestern Front. An inept leader, Budenny allowed Von Rundstedt's army to divide and nearly destroy his command. Partly-printed D.S. 1p. 4to., Moscow, Jan. 11, 1938, relaying promotions, in part: "...Deputy Chief of the 3rd Division of Command is to be admitted as the Chief of the 2nd Division...Chief of the 49th Infantry Division is to assume the duties of Inspector of Military Supplies..." and so on. Signed in red ink at bottom, also signed by generals KOLONIN and ALEXEI ANTONOV (in pencil) who was one of Stalin's most respected generals. Slight blurring to a few letters in signature, otherwise very good.
