Cal. 303 British. S# 194306. Bbl. 26". Rifle has been assembled by the adapting of the Model 1917 stock. Ladder aperture rear sight graduated to 1,600 yards. Blade front sight marked "W" w/ protective ears. Receiver is marked on right side of ring "ERA". Bolt shroud, safety, bolt stop, rear sight ladder, spring & upper band marked "E". Bolt has been re-serial numbered to match receiver. Sight ladder also carries matching number. Replacement hardwood stock set. Stock is for a US 1917 rifle & has the correct grasping groove placement & does not have the provision for the volley sight. Over-stamped manufacturer's mark at stock tip is not legible. Mag. follower appears to be for the 30-06 cartridge. Stacking swivel & screw are not present. CONDITION: stock has arsenal rework type finish w/ light wear & scattered handling marks. Metal has arsenal rework black parkerization w/ thinning & light wear. Bore is shiny w/ strong lands. (25-2869/RW). CURIO. $400-600.
