<B>BRILLIANT BLUE CORNETITE</B></I><BR> <I>L'Etoile du Congo Mine (Star of the Congo Mine; Kalukuluku Mine), Lubumbashi (Elizabethville), Southern area, Katanga Copper Zone, Katanga (Shaba), People's Democratic Republic of Congo (Zaïre)</B></I><BR>An extremely rich deep-azure blue, this botryoidal specimen is a dense forest of very fine acicular cornetite crystals accented by a sprinkling of malachite microcrystals, which sparkles from all angles. And the intensity of the color marks it as being from the now-famous find of 1998. This is as fine a specimen as came out at the time, producing this classic habit that is, today, a rarity to find.
