[BRAMSTON ( James )]. The Art of Politicks, in imitation of Horace's Art of Poetry. Humbly address'd to the Right Honourable * * * * * * * * * * and James Duke Heidegger, Esq. Written by Messieurs A. Pope and J. Gay. [Dublin :] London printed ; and Dublin : re-printed, and sold by James Hoey, and George Faulkner, at the Pamphlet-shop in Skinner-Row, opposite to the Tholsel, 172924-pages, 12mo, recent paper wrapper : lower margin cut close with loss to catch-word or final line of note on five pages, otherwise a very good copy. Foxon B390. A rare Dublin printing, cheaply produced in a small format and issued without a plate. ESTC locates five copies : Di, Dt, Lse ; IU & NIC), along with two copies (C & O) of a similar printing unknown to Foxon, in which "fourth edition, carefully revised and corrected," has been added to the title-page, which is of course a fiction. These two are the only editions to bear the fanciful attribution to Pope and Gay ; neither is noted by Iolo Williams.ENGLISH PRE 1801; DUBLIN PRINTED; ENGLISH LITERATURE; VERSE; ; ; ; ; ; ; ;
